The "Starter Set"

Two books for daily reading form the foundational texts for both personal prayer and common worship. These are an Orthodox prayer book and an Orthodox psalter. Publications with the translations in use at St. Anthony are listed below.

Orthodox Christians often pray with icons of Jesus Christ and Mary the mother of God.  Small dual icons called diptychs are available which are portable and inexpensive.

Read the prayers and hymns of the Church, especially the services of vespers and orthros. Listen and engage with the weekly Homilies, you may always ask questions of the Clergy.
